This lesson plan requires students to make a math alphabet
book that uses their own selection of terms which they will decide in groups.
The alphabet books allow students to incorporate literacy by writing the definition
of their terms. Also, they will add an image to illustrate their terms which
creates a multi-modal text for them to read. After they share their alphabet
books with the class, they will fill out a listening sheet where they comment
and make suggestions for each other’s books. Finally, they will write a
reflection so they can reflect on what they learned from this activity This
activity helps students to reinforce math terms students are learning by
incorporating literacy.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading about your tool. I especially like that it allows the students to use different forms of media. I think it’s smart to have students use different media forms because it reinforces their learning and lets them be creative. I also love that the students get to create their own product with this tool. It creates a very rich learning experience because of how much they will work with the information.
